Bluford Avenue ▪ Ocoee, Florida 34761 Phone: (407) 905-3100 ▪ www.ocoee.org STAFF REPORT Meeting Date: June 6, 2023 Item #: 7 Contact Name: Stephen Krug Department Director: Stephen Krug Contact Number: Ext. 6002 City Manager: Robert Frank Subject: Approval for Demolition of Structures at 182 N. Lakeshore Drive. (Public Works Director Krug) Background Summary: In 2023, the parcel of land at 182 N. Lakeshore Drive became available for sale to the City. Being directly adjacent to existing City-owned property, the City Commission approved the purchase to assist in fostering development in Downtown for future expansion. The parcel consists of one (1) vacant residential structure and one (1) wooden utility storage shed. Because they are vacant, Public Works recommends approval to demolish the structures to eliminate the City's liability for maintenance. The Public Works Department would like to piggyback off of the Seminole County’s Term Contract for Demolition Services, Contract ID IFB-604216-21/TKH, utilizing Advanced Demolition as the contractor at a proposed cost of $12,525. Public Works recommends approval of this award. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve demolition of the structures located at 182 N. Lakeshore Drive, and approve to piggyback Seminole County’s Term Contract for Demolition Services? Recommendations: Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve demolition of the structures located at 182 N. Lakeshore Drive, and authorize a purchase order be issued for the contracted demolition with Advanced Demolition utilizing the existing competitively bid Seminole Term Contract IFB-604216-21/TKH in the amount of $12,525, and authorize the City Manager and Staff to approve change orders to this contract up to the limit of his purchasing authority for each change order, and up to the budgeted amount for this project for all change orders.
