Regular Meeting Held May 25, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Lewis called the meeting to order at 5:25 PM, in the Commission Chambers of
Ocoee City Hall, located at I North Bluford Avenue, Ocoee, Fl, 34761,
Chairperson Lewis opened the meeting, Member Mellen led the Pledge of Allegiance, and
Member Moyer led the Invocation. Recording Clerk Maldonado called roll and declared a
quorum present.

Chairperson Lewis, and Members Braunskill, Meeks, Moyer, Mellen, and Garay
Also present: Commissioner Kennedy, Sergeant Beck, and Recording Clerk Maldonado

Members Garone, Holt and Brown
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 26,2023, REGULAR MEETING:
Member Mellen made a motion to approve the January 26, 2023, minutes; seconded by Member
Garay. The motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 2,2023, SPECIAL MEETING:
Member Mellen made a motion to yMrove the March 2, 2023, nfinittes; seconded by Member
Lewis. The motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 13,2023, SPECIAL MEETING:
Member Mellen made a motion to approve the April 13, 2023, minutes; seconded by Member
Garay. The motion carried itnanimqLLI)L
1. Community Picnic Discussion
Board discussed the positive outcome of the CACOPD members first participation with the new
tent, table cloth and promotional items.

1. Financial Reports and Budget Discussion
Sergeant Beek provided an update on the $3,000.00 annual budget which covers October 1, 2022,
thin September 30,2023. Sergeant Beek advised the board $700 was voted on for the prior Officer
/Civilian of the quarter awards. A total of budget used is $1,455.03. Remaining balance of
$1,544.97.
2. Quarterly Award Nominee Selection
Chair Lewis opened the discussion to select first quarterly nominee. There was only one nominee
provided for civilian of the quarter.
Member Garay made a motion to choose the Civilian offirst Qyarter 2023; seconded by Member
Mover, The motion carried unanimously.
Member BratinskM inade a motion to choose two Qfficers of the First Quarter 2023. He chose
the first one nominated by Captain S. N aray The motion carried

Member Garay made a motion to choose the second Of ices of the First Quarter 2023, nominated
by Officer Valle, seconded by Member Mellen. The motion carried unanimously.
Member Braunskill made a motion to give $50.00-dollars from the CACOPD bud et for the

second gift card; seconded by Member Garay. The motion carried ynanimously.
3. Discussion on Board Polo Order
Member Mom made a motion to place an order to get the shirts needed for the new nienibers
fora cost oLno more than $200. 00, seconded by Member Mellen. The motion carried
unanimously.
Member Garay amended the inotion to place an order to get the shirts needed for the new
members for a cost of no more than $200. 00; and further, if the shirts cost more than $200. 00, i
will be discussed at the next meeting or special meeting, seconded by Member Moyer. The
motion carried unanimously.
4. Voting on the future purchase of promotional items
The board had a discussion on promotional items and concluded that no other items are need for
any future events.
Sergeant Beck provided all the details of upcoming events for the Police Department:
National Night Out, Police Teen Academy, Blue Jay Way Clean Up Program, and Chief s Night
Out.
