(Public Works Director Krug) Background Summary: The City traditionally purchases vehicles through various competitively bid annual contracts. Public Works has researched pricing and has found the Sourcewell (National Auto Fleet Group) contract provides the lowest competitively bid pricing for vehicles utilizing competitively bid contracts. The following vehicle is incorporated into the approved budget for purchase through these contracts: • 1 - Ford Transit T-350 Wagon @ $54,932 (Recreation - New). The approved budget includes the following equipment items, priced through the Florida Sheriff’s Association bid contract: • 1 - JLG X600AJ Compact Crawler Boom Lift @ $162,490 (Facilities - New). In addition to the above vehicle and equipment, the Commission approved Public Works to acquire a replacement concrete truck within the 23/24 budget. Attached is the description and quote for the below proposed concrete truck: • 1 - Ford F-550 with mounted 2-yard Ernest Short Stop Mixer @ $119,235 (Streets - Replacement). This is a specialty built item that allows Public Works to pick up small loads of concrete directly from the batch plant to be hauled to our repair projects within city neighborhoods and work sites. It will replace the 17-year- old Portamix 202 portable towed concrete mixer that was acquired in 2007 and has reached the end of its useful service life. Public Works has searched for companies that provide a truck with a similar configuration. However, Rush Truck Center is the only vendor offering a single-source turn-key product. Other companies offer a separate concrete mixer body option at a higher cost when combined with a separately purchased truck chassis. There is also not a current bid we can piggyback onto for this type of equipment already mounted onto the vehicle. Public Works recommends approval to purchase the above vehicles and equipment based on published pricing for the 2023/2024 term contracts from Sourcewell and the Florida Sheriff’s Association. Recommendations: Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the acquisition of the above vehicle and equipment from the Sourcewell and Florida Sheriff’s Association contracts, the acquisition of the above concrete truck, and authorize the City Manager and staff to approve changes to the vehicle and equipment orders up to the limit of his purchasing authority and up to the budget amount for any change order.
