Subject: Approval for the Carpet Replacement at Ocoee Police Department. (Acting Police
Chief Ogburn)
Background Summary:
The Ocoee Police Department began replacing the old carpet within the station in late 2022. However, the job
was not completed. The Ocoee Police Department would like to complete the job with funds transferred from
the following accounts: Job 000260 ($5,000), 000349 ($1,200), 000324 ($5000), and 000416 ($10,000). The
department would like to retain the services of MIE, Inc. to install the carpet for continuity of services and
supplies. MIE, Inc. is familiar with the outlay of the building and has the style of carpet that was initially
purchased.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the transfer of the above-mentioned funds totaling
$21,200 from the named accounts, which would allow the carpet replacement project to be completed?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve transferring the funds, totaling
$21,200, from the named accounts (Jobs).

Financial Impacts:
The project's total cost is $57,531.55, of which $37,216.70 was allocated within the 2024 budget. The
remaining balance for the project will be transferred from accounts within the department's existing budget.
There will be no financial impact on the City of Ocoee.
