(Acting Assistant City Manager Rumer) Background Summary: The applicant, Garett Kelly, with Orange County Public Schools (Ocoee High School) is requesting the closure of public roads within the downtown, which is located in District 2 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for an Ocoee High School Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally. The applicant states the parade is intended to highlight Ocoee High School Sports and Organizations, the Homecoming Court, Ocoee High Band, and Mr. and Miss Ocoee. The parade will begin and end at Bill Breeze Park. Consistent with each year's parade, a Special Event permit has been applied for by the applicant. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the closure of Downtown Roads (S Lakewood, Lafayette St., S Bluford Ave, and drive between Old City Hall and Maguire House) on Wednesday, September 25th, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for an Ocoee High School Parade and Pep Rally?
