Regular Meeting Held on July 15, 2024
CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Rainer called the meeting to order at 6:07 PM, in the Commission Chambers in City hall, located at I N.
Bluford Avenue in Ocoee, FL. Recording Clerk Shaw called roll and determined a quorum present.
Present: Chair Rainer, Vice -Chair Lonmeck, Members Applegate, Salliab, Graham, and Moyer (arrived at 6:11
PM)
Absent: Member Hassan
Also present: Commissioner Wilsen, City Clerk Sibbitt, Parks Operations Manager Abdo, and Recording Clerk

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There are no minutes available for approval from September 18, 2023, and March
18, 2024, as the audio recordings and notes from the former Recording Clerk could not be found.
UPDATE OF EVE' NTS
Parks Operations Manager Abdo briefly updated the Board on the following events: Mardis Gras, Music Fest
2024, Easter, and July 41h. He addressed any questions related to community participation and event success.
Allocate Funds for Future Events
The Board discussed the previous motions from the March 18, 2024, DRAB Meeting and decided to redo those
motions to ensure that the disbursement of funds could be completed by staff before the end of the fiscal year.
The following actions were taken after their discussion:
Viee-Chair Loinneek made a, motion to approve an additional 10% over last year's finicling for the

Memorial Garden Update Discussion
The Board discussed the placement of a plaque on the Veteran's Memorial Garden bench in honor of Tom Lowrie,
Commissioner Wilsen relayed a City Commission Meeting discussion about placing bricks in the garden to
honor veterans. Member Moyer mentioned lie has an upcoming meeting with the Mayor to discuss ways to honor
veterans. City Cleric Sibbitt responded to questions about purchasing the plaque and stated she would need to
research the policy on the allocation of board funds to determine what expenses are permissible.

Gordon Wayor Field Nained Discussion
Parks Operations Manager Abdo outlined potential issues with changing the road name near the Eiriployee
Clinic and shared that Parks and Recreation Director Johnson suggested naming a field at Vandergrift Central
Park after former Member Gordon Applegate instead, Discussion ensued on the renaming of the Skatepark.

Parks Operations Manager Abdo announced the following -upcoming events: Family Rec Day on July 2011, at
the Jim Beech Center, girls' volleyball sign ups start July 19111, and swine lessons and summer camp are ongoing,
