The workshop was called to order by 111ember Beck at 6.15 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of City
Hall located at 1 N. Bluford Avenue, Ocoee.
Member Beck led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of personal reflection. Recording
Clerk Torres proceeded with the roll call, and confirmed the presence of a quorum.
Present: Vice -Chair Maxwell, Members Cummings, Mellen, Cease, Beck, and Singh
Absent: Chair Moyer
Also Present: Mayor Johnson, Support Services Director Gaines, and Recording Clerk Torres

These included being mindful of cultural sensitivities, ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities,
and choosing appropriate vocabulary for diverse audiences. Ms. Sawh also addressed the importance
of pronoun usage, advocating for increased comfort and proficiency in this aspect. She explained
inclusive language which honors individuals regardless of their background or identity, affirming their
dignity and humanity.
