Subject: Approval of Municipal Interlocal Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement.

Background Summary:
The Ocoee Police Department and other municipalities within the Central Florida Area have been in a
Municipal Interlocal Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement since January 12, 2012. This agreement is
set to expire on January 1, 2025. This agreement is voluntary and in place for the assistance of a routine law
enforcement nature that crosses jurisdictional lines and a Requested Operational Assistance Agreement for
rendering assistance in connection with a law enforcement agency. This assistance may address violations of
any Florida Statute. Any agency member of the participating agency, when engaged in mutual cooperation
and assistance outside the jurisdictional limits of their respective agencies under the terms of this agreement,
shall have the same powers, duties, rights, privileges, and immunities as if they were performing their duties in
the political subdivision in which they are normally employed. If renewed, this agreement will expire on
January 1, 2029.

Recommendations:
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the Municipal Interlocal
Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement.
