I am here speaking on behalf of my family with a complaint, because for the past few months I have been unable to park in front of my own residence. The cause is signs that were installed along the front of my residence and side of my neighbor's house. These signs say, "No Parking". These signs were installed due to a neighbor parking 3-5 vehicles along the side of my neighbor's house. These vehicles were not pulled off of the road, even sometimes parked in the middle of the road for extended periods of time. Sitting parked for weeks at a time, These vehicles would block the road and prevent the movement of both garbage trucks and the fire department, There have been accounts of other neighbors having to dodge these cars at night due to the corner being dimly lit and the vehicles not being parked properly. For the past 3 years I have been parking in front of my house without a problem. Both my stepfather and I have been parking our vehicles in front of our house, taking care of leaving enough space to allow the flow of traffic. With the installation of these signs, we are now forced to park in front of our neighbors or on the side of the residence. These siAIR ns are only a minor inconvenience to our neighbor who is running an automotive oout of his garage, He has been approached by Code Enforcement about this multiple times. He now parks his vehicles in his backyard. He does not even have to deal with these signs outside of his house. These signs only target my residence and prevent our visitors from parking closer to the house. My family and I ask that the commission to at least remove the sign that prohibits parking In front of my residence and keep the signs that prevent parking along the side of my neighbors residence.
