(City Clerk Sibbitt) Background Summary: The Code Enforcement Board was created by Ordinance No. 741 on June 16, 1981. The purpose of this Board is to review residential property infractions of the City Technical Codes, negotiate compliance and impose fines for failure to comply. The City utilizes a magistrate apart from the Code Board for code enforcement issues involving commercial properties. The Code Enforcement Board shall consist of seven (7) regular members and two (2) alternate members, all with three-year terms. Currently, the Board has six (6) regular members and no alternate members. An application has been received by Roman Whittle, who has shown an interest in being appointed to the Code Enforcement Board as a regular member for a term ending June 2028. At this time, there are no other applications on file for this Board. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider appointing Roman Whittle to serve as a regular member on the Code Enforcement Board for a three-year term? Recommendations: Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider appointing Roman Whittle to the Code Enforcement Board to serve as a regular member for a term ending June 2028.
