(City Clerk Sibbitt) Background Summary: Section 8.01 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations lists Holidays that will be observed annually in the City of Ocoee. Each year the City Commission approves those holidays as well as selects dates for those holidays that fall on weekend days. Due to time-sensitive development projects, the Development Services Department would benefit from advance notification of planned cancelations of the Planning and Zoning and City Commission Meetings. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the Holiday Schedule for 2026; and further, approve canceling three (3) scheduled meeting dates as recommended by staff listed below? Recommendations: APPROVED HOLIDAYS DATES AS APPROVED RECOMMENDATIONS New Year's Day January 1st Thursday, January 1, 2026 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Third Monday in January Monday, January 19, 2026 Memorial Day Last Monday in May Monday, May 25, 2026 Independence Day July 4th Friday, July 3, 2026 Labor Day First Monday in September Monday, September 7, 2026 Thanksgiving Day Fourth Thursday in November Thursday, November 26, 2026 Day after Thanksgiving Day after Fourth Thursday Friday, November 27, 2026 Day Before or After Christmas As determined by the Commission Thursday, December 24, 2026 Christmas December 25th Friday, December 25, 2026 City of Ocoee ▪ 1 N.
