Subject: Approval to Transfer Funds for Installation of a Screened Enclosure at the Ocoee
Police Department. (Police Chief Ogburn)
Background Summary:
The Ocoee Police Department is requesting the installation of a screened-in patio at the station to address
ongoing concerns related to insects and small animals entering the building. Staff have reported frequent
issues with frogs, mosquitoes, and other pests entering the building when exterior doors are opened, creating
an uncomfortable and unsanitary work environment. A screened-in enclosure would serve as a barrier to
mitigate this problem while also providing a secure, shaded space for officers and staff to hold informal
meetings. To support this initiative, the department is requesting a transfer of funds from GL# 317-521-00-
6400 (Capital Equipment) in the amount of $6,000.00 to GL #317-521-00-6302 (Capital Improvement) to cover
the cost of materials and installation. This improvement is a practical and proactive step toward enhancing
workplace conditions and supporting staff wellness.
