Background Summary:
Members of the Citizen Advisory Council for Ocoee Fire Department (CACOFD) serve three-year terms. The
Resolution creating the Board allows no more than nine (9) members and currently, the board has eight (8)
members.
The terms of Members Tom Legvold and James Cummins expire in November 2025. Member Cummins has
expressed interest in being reappointed to serve another three-year term and Member Legvold has submitted
his resignation. In 2025, Member Cummins attended two (2) out of three (3) meetings. No other applications
have been received by the City Clerk's Department.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider reappointing Member Cummins to serve
another three-year term on the CACOFD with a term set to expire in November 2028?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider reappointing Member Cummins to
serve another three-year term on the CACOFD with a term set to expire in November 2028.
