IM HAPCO MUSICYOUTHARTS Funding for Evans High School violinists Dayrnoir, Michaela, Debrah and Bacarri to attend the FSU College of Music's String Orchestra camp. In middle school, James Adkins wanted to be a drum- mer. He had a great ear but did not know how to read music. He joined his school band and began learning how to be a complete percussionist. To excel, he knew he needed a drum kit at home, but he could not afford it. HAPCO gifted the 13-year-old with his first drums in 2014. Today, he is touring the world as part of the Bob James Trio. James is known for his "boundary -pushing, eclectic style," Clockwise: James receiving his first drums. James with Bob James and Michael Palazzolo. James joined us onstage at the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend where he was performing with Bob James.
