Subject: Approval of Declaration and Disposition of Scrap City Property at Forest Lake Golf
Club. (Parks and Leisure Services Director Johnson)
Background Summary:
As part of the City's acquisition of Forest Lake Golf Club, the property included a significant amount of
obsolete, inoperable, and deteriorated equipment that has no operational or resale value. The inventory
consists of aging mowers, trailers, sprayers, golf carts, and various miscellaneous maintenance equipment
that are beyond their useful life and are no longer suitable for service.
These items have remained stored in the golf course maintenance yard, where they continue to deteriorate
due to prolonged exposure to the elements. The obsolete equipment occupies valuable workspace, detracts
from the overall appearance of the maintenance facility, and limits the efficient organization and storage of
equipment currently used to maintain the golf course.
Staff has completed an evaluation of the equipment and determined that it is no longer economically feasible
to repair or retain. Declaring these items as surplus and authorizing their disposal will improve the functionality
and appearance of the maintenance yard, enhance operational efficiency, and support the City's ongoing
efforts to improve and modernize Forest Lake Golf Club.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission declare that the list of items are of no value and should be
transferred for disposal at a scrapyard?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commission declare that the list of items are of no value and
should be transferred for disposal at a scrapyard.

Financial Impacts:
When the city took over operations of the golf club, the equipment was already non-functioning and rusting
outside on the club grounds. There is no financial impact to the City of Ocoee.
