Subject: Approval of the Disposal of Old Furniture for the Police Department. (Police Chief
Ogburn)
Background Summary:
The Ocoee Police Department is currently updating the building's existing furniture. The majority of the
furniture to be replaced came with the building when the City of Ocoee acquired it in 2009. The furniture dates
to the late 90s and early 2000s. Some of the furniture was passed down from the old City Hall. The furniture
consists of old metal desks. Vendors have advised us that there is no value in the furniture and that they
would take it and dispose of it. There is no place at the police department to store the furniture. The
replacement furniture will be for the Sergeant's Office, Records Department, Property and Evidence Section,
Crime Scene Office, and the Criminal Investigations Sergeant's Office.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission authorize the disposal of the outdated furniture in the
Police Department?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commission authorize the disposal of the outdated
furniture in the Police Department.

Financial Impacts:
The cost of the removal and disposal of the old office furniture is included in the quote provided by the vendor
who will be removing and installing the new office furniture.
