(Police Chief Ogburn) Background Summary: There are residual funds in this fiscal year's Police Department capital items budget. With the intent of reducing vehicle purchases in the upcoming FY27 budget, staff requests to purchase two additional vehicles from FY26 residual funds and to reduce next year’s purchase. The Police Department has a responsibility to maintain a working fleet in a state of operational readiness and has a need for pickup truck-type vehicles. Staff located a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck from Carl Black Chevrolet (Hillsborough County Sheriff Contract) and a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck from Woody Folsom CJDR (Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract) that would meet the needs of the Police Department. Both vendors have an existing relationship with the City of Ocoee. Staff is seeking authorization from the Commission to acquire the vehicles described from in-stock vehicles located at the above-mentioned dealerships, upfit the described vehicles with JCO Corporation (existing vendor), and install police graphics from ODMX Express Signs (existing vendor), with the residual from our capital budget not to exceed the remaining balance. Staff also requests that the City Manager be authorized to approve change orders up to the limit of his procurement authority.
