(Planner II Belizaire) Background Summary: The applicant, Garret Kelly, representing Ocoee High School, is requesting the closure of several public roads within Ocoee's downtown for the Ocoee High School Homecoming Parade. The parade will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM and will include partial road closures on N. Lakewood Drive, E. McKey Street, and W. Oakland Avenue. Approval of the related special event/parade permit is contingent on approval of the road closures. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve the proposed closure of Ocoee's downtown roads, including N. Lakewood Drive, E. McKey Street, and W. Oakland Avenue, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for the Ocoee High School Homecoming Parade? Recommendations: Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve the proposed closure of Ocoee's downtown roads, including N. Lakewood Drive, E. McKey Street, and W. Oakland Avenue, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for the Ocoee High School homecoming parade. Upon approval by the City Commission of the road closures, staff will approve the special event/parade permit and assess the required fees unless the commission determines to waive them.
