The insurance company will pay damages in the total of $8,850. Along with the money received from our insurance claim, an additional $16,150 is needed to purchase a new replacement police patrol vehicle ($25,000). Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the proposed money transfer from the police department salaries, 001-521-00-1200, to vehicle replacement, 001-521-00-6401, for the replacement purchase of one (1) equipped patrol vehicle? Recommendations It is recommended that the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the budget transfer for the purchase of one (1) police patrol vehicle. Attachments: Financial Impact: The $16,150 is available in the police personnel account as unused payroll. The remainder of the purchase price, $8,850, will be received from our insurance company at the end of November for the damage claim. ISSUE: Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the proposed money transfer of $16,150 from the police department salaries account 001-521-00-1200 to the vehicle replacement account 001-521-00-6401 for the purchase of one (1) replacement vehicle? BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION: The Police Department had one (1) marked patrol vehicle seriously damaged in a vehicle crash. The damaged vehicle was totaled by the insurance company. The Longwood Police Department will be contacted for the possible purchase of a used marked patrol vehicle. 1
