Background Summary:
Members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board serve two-year terms. The Parks and Recreation
Advisory board currently has nine (9) members and their ordinance allows no more than thirteen (13) members.
One application was received from Carol Heard with an interest in serving on the board. There are no
additional applications on file.
Issue:
Should the honorable Mayor and City Commission appoint Carol Heard to the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board with a term ending October 201 O?
Recommendations
Staff is recommending that the City Commission appoint Carol Heard to the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board with term ending October 2010.

I'm not certain what qualifications you are looking for but I am ci@able of planning and pre~g for events,
I have good community relations skills, and I have worked with a ot of people in the communIty. Mymam purpose
for wanting to serve on the committee is to make good decisions and look at the community wants and needs

Implemented a program to assist needy children in the West Orange
Community. With the help of the Westside Family we assisted 70+
children each year with Christmas presents and provided the families
with a fun filled evening with a Christmas feast, entertainment and
Santa Claus. (This is my favorite!)
