Subject: Appointment to Board of Adjustment.
Background Summary:
Ordinance No. 516 on September 15, 1970, created the Board of Adjustment to hear and decide appeals for
administrative review, to hear and recommend to the City Commission variances to zoning ordinances. This
Board consists of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members. At this time there are five (5) regular
members and no alternate members.
Michael Elliott, who is currently an alternate member on the Code Enforcement Board, has indicated he would be
interested in also serving on the Board of Adjustment Board.
Issue:
Should Michael Elliot be appointed to the Board of Adjustment as an alternate member?
Recommendations
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners appoint Michael Elliott to serve a three-year
term on the Board of Adjustment with a term ending May 2011. Currently there are no other applications on file to
fill the board openings.
