HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation - NationalNightOut2008 Proclamation the National Association of Town Watch is sponsoring a unique, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on August 5, 2008, entitled “National Night Out”; and rd the “25 Annual National Night Out” provides a unique opportunity for the WHEREAS, WHEREAS, City of Ocoee to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts; and the City of Ocoee plays a vital role in assisting the Ocoee Police WHEREAS, WHEREAS, Department through joint crime, drug and violence prevention effort in Ocoee and is supporting “National Night Out 2008” locally; and it is essential that all citizens of Ocoee be aware of the importance of crime WHEREAS, WHEREAS, prevention programs and impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in Ocoee; and police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, cooperation are important themes of the “National Night Out” program; I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, do hereby call NOW, THEREFORE, NOW, THEREFORE, upon all citizens of Ocoee to join the Ocoee Police Department and the National Association of th Town Watch in supporting “25 Annual National Night Out” on August 5, 2008. do FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT I, MAYOR VANDERGRIFT, FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT I, MAYOR VANDERGRIFT, hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 5, 2008, as “National Night Out” IN WITNESS WHEREOF , I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Ocoee, Florida to be affixed this 5th day of August 2008. _____________________________ S.
