PRESENT: Mayor Ison, Canvassing Board Member Cook, Canvassing Board Member Rodgers, City Manager Griffin, City Clerk Catron and Deputy Clerk Jones ABSENT: Canvassing Board Members Hager and Lyle CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Ison called the Canvassing Board Meeting to order at l2:05pm. The purpose of this meeting to open, count and record for the record the absentee ballots. 92 absentee ballots were recieved at City Hall. 84 ballots were declared valid. 8 ballots were declared invalid due to the following reasons: 1 invalid wrong precinct 2 invalid unsigned 5 invalid unsealed CANDIDATES TOTAL MACHINE VOTES ABSENTEE BALLOTS TOTAL Corrnn. Cox to be the winner for Corrnnission Seat III with 51.7% of the vote. Mayor Ison declared Commissioner Rodgers to retain his Commission seat 112 with 65% of the vote. Mayor Ison declared a run off for Commission seat 113 between John Bateman and William Stinnett to be held on November 20, 1984.
