HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-04-87 WS MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP HELD AUGUST 4, 1987 . The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Mayor Ison. PRESENT: Mayor Ison, Commissioners Johnson, Dabbs, and Hager, City Manager Ryan, City Planner Wagner, Works Director Occhiuzzo and City Clerk Catron. D.v. - Don Tool.y e City Manager Ryan explained that the developers had spoken to staff conceptually about their proJect and before they proceeded they wanted input from the City Commission. Don Tooley, 1412 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando, representing LeCesse Development Corp., spoke to the Commission about the proJect. The Commission had been presented with a copy of the site plan. The proJect was located at the southeast corner of the City and zoned R-3. Phase I would consist of 160 units of one, two and three bedrooms. They were trying to save as many trees as possible and asked if the commission would be willing to give them relief on 27 of the parking spaces in order to save trees. There were 147 Oaks, 52 Wild Cherry and 5 Pine trees located on the property and they planned to save 106 Oak, 30 Wild Cherry and 3 Pine trees, plus they had a replanting program for relocation of some of the smaller trees on the site. They would also like any other comments regarding the site plan. Mayor Ison explained that there could be no action taken since this was only a workshop. Mr. Tooley stated that he understood but wanted their comments about the proJect. City Planner Wagner explained that they were about 90% complete with the engineering, etc., and at this point they wanted to know the Commission's ~eeling on trading parking places in order to save the trees. Commissioner Dabbs questioned the total number of parking spaces and Mr. Tooley said they had 360 parking spaces and would be 27 lese i~ the Commission approved the trade. Commissioner Hager asked how the 160 units were split and Mr. Tooley said they had 40 - 1BR, 104 - 2BR (80 - 2BR/2BA, 24 2BR/1BA) and 16 - 3BR. Commissioner Bateman questioned the drainage retention on the lake. City Planner Wagner said there would be an environmental swale and the plan would be redone so the water goes to the retention pond.
