REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF OCOEE HELD
February 4th, 1924.
Meeting called to order by A'.' M. Clarke, president
of counc il.
The following aldermen were pr es ent: A. M. Clarke, .B. A. Minor
ani u. J. F fJ.!'Ber, and Mayor F. H. Maguire.
Mr. Matthews representing Maguire & Hawthorne addressed the
Council with reference to obtaining a franchise. Mr. Hoyle Pounds
of the :Pounds Water Works was preeent for the same purpose.
The follning resolution was authorized: "TH.A1r WHEREAS,
the Pounds Water s Wo rks are the pres ent owners of the water
system and Maguire & Hawthorne are the owners of the lighting
system in th e Town of (Zooe e, and
WHEREAS, th e Town C ouno i1 of the T own. of U 0 oe e has Bgr eed
to call a mass meeting of the oiticaens of the ~own of Oooee to
be held Friday night, J!'ebruary 8th, 1924 gt the School Auditorium,
BE IT RESOLVED, that bdlth Pounds Water Wo rks and Maguire &
Hawthorne, and hereby asked to draft a b'ranchise and submit "Sa.IIle
at the mass meeting of the Qitizens of the ~own of Uooee, where..by
a vote. will be taken. by said eitizem present if agreea~.f.'Withl:the
aiti:.zens present that a franchise be granted to the Pounds Water
Works and .1aguire & Hawthorne.
A letter f~om Mayor, F. H. Maguire. tendering his resignation
as Mayor of the 1'own of Ucoee was read by A. M. Clarke. Motion
by B. A. Minor and seconded by C. J. 1!'armer that same be accepned,

will make the most improvements for a lease on the bath house located

Said lease may extend over a perion of three to five yeajJs,
and rent to be paid on the first of each and every month.
