MINUTES BF A SPECIAL MEETING OF TIill CITY COUNCIL, HELD FEB. 13th, 1929.
Called to order by President of the Council, v,1r. J. J. Robertson~
with the following members answering roll-call: J. Iv1. Argo, C. F.
Fain and L. C. Bobo. Absent: R. D. Slone. The Mayor, Clerk and ~
Marshal. pre sent, .
Purpose of this m~et~ng ~s to hear report of 'committee, namely: J. M.
Argo and R. C. Bigelow, on the Ocpee Bank Vatter, and for further
discussion of this question.
Committee reported as follows: That a plan had been submitted by the
stockholders, through Mr. Maguire, Atty., and Mr. John Butner, as
follows: That bank might be re-organized with capital of $15,000.
provided the depositors.. would be willing to discount their deposits
15%, taking certificates of deposit for 85%, payable on the follow-
ing basis:

Mr. Butner spoke ~n favor of this plan, and Mr. Maguire said he thought
he could get the approval of the ComptrolJ.er, provided the depositors
would sign such an agr'eement.

lJ.'his plan and this meeting are simila.r to tbe Special Meeting held
on Monday night Feb. llth, of whi~h no minutes were made.
After a long discussion of this subject, on motion of
seconded by L. C. Bobo and .carried, Council agreed to
more time for investig~tion of the whole plan and the
success, before giving it their approval. f

No further business. the meeting adjourned at 9:35 o'clock.
