Council instructed st. Committee to examine oak tree nea.r post oifice
and report whether it should come down, and approxima~e cost ~the

Council also instructed Warshal to clean out catch basins a~d clean
up the streets of leaves and sand, using labor which is behind on water~
rent; It was stated that the Council was willing to assi~t ~hese men '
to pay their water rents up to the present time,:'but not t'o pay with
work in advance. ' ..:,;'i,' '.

Mr. H. S. Wheeler, of Wright-Warlow & Co., was It..,r.esent, and dis-
cussed fully the results from citizens allovdng~heir pa,v'ing assess-
ments to go unpaid and thus cause the Town to defaul~ in its obliga-
tions. Mr. vVheeler advised that the results o'f a def,~uJ.t would be
very disastrous, and the Town would suffer in rTlany ways. Several cit-
izens were present, namely: W. L.'\Mbore, Dr. .Jensen,~g~. I. ,Witty,
G. A. Brown, Nr. Felker, Nr. Vv'urst, T. J. Minor, and a w"neral dis-
cussion of this question was entered into..' C~uncil,agreed to use its
best efforts to collect paving assessment..s:in a-rreal'S, and asked the

The amount of ~:~540. interest on Refunding Bon.ds, due April 15th, was
discussed, and matter was left over with no instrhctions to the Clerk
but same would be decided before the due date a.nct"'instructions given.

Council voted to ins'truct the ',Iv:ar'shal to go ov~ each paved street j
and look up and fix the small depressions wh~~have developed. This
work .to be done at once.

Night Watchmen: 'l'his auestion was gone over by request of the Mayor
arid it was decided to keep one man on every night, letting him cover
the main part of town by. walking from 11 to 2 or 2 :30, and to keep
a sharp look-out for any d~so~der.
There being no further business, upon motion, the mGeting adj'ourned
at 11.25.
