IN THE HEART OF ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA., MINUTES OF ,q SPECIAL I\ffiETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, HEW APRIL 18th, 29'0 Called to order by J. .T. Robertson, with all members present. Mayor and Clerk present. Meeting called for transaction of general business, in view of the failure to hold last regular meeting account lack of quorum. Messrs. Dood, Carter and Hickman were present from Orlando National Detective Agency in regard to matter of recent fires in Ocoee. They ,advised that Richardson & Marsh Corp. were willing to pay in cash $50., but that Chase & Co. refused to join in the plan. Ocoee had given their' check for $50. previously. These gentlemen came back to present a new plan--that is, so far as payments are concerned, namely: ~~200. to start work on the case, and if a conviction is secured, then an additional ~~200. must be paid in, making a total of $400. for con- viction. If no conviction--$200. Mayor and Mr. Fain were appbinted a committee to interview Chase & Co, locally, and report what interest they seem to have in the matter, and if they, will come in equally with Ocoee and Richardson & Marsh Corp. then we will proceed. Other- wise we will drop the question, and our ch'.ck will be returned to us. . I Letter from State Treasurer as to interest due on Ocoee Bonds put up as collateral by Bank of Ocoee was read for a second time. Council asked Clerk to confel:' with Receiver of Bank and see what information could be secured from him along this line. Also wherCi.,l the other bonds were at present. ~ )w- Water question was discussed. Pumping bill was very high for past month, and it was brought out that many citizens were using sprinklers, freely, some night and day, and that these parties should be required to install"meters. Clerk,mentioned case of Mrs. Horn on a flat rate of $5. per month in comparison with others who use more water on a rate of $2.25, and Council was asked for some relief.
