FLORIDA" MINUTES OF A SPECIAL IvrrmTING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, HELD MAY 27th, 1929. Called to order by J. J. Robertson, with all members present except C. F. Fain. Mayor, Clerk and Marshal present. This meeting is for the purpose of transacting general business, ow- ing to the fact that the regular meeting was not held May 20th on account of rain. Minutes read and anproved. le~er was read from The J. B. McCrary Co. advising that ~. Shepperd of Groveland would look after the defective work in connection with storm sewers on Bluford Ave. le tters from Supt. Dumas, of the A. C. Bank $1.50, and fee for N. Y. Ex. at Nat Bank of W. G. 60 cents, making a total of $602.10. Marshal ordered to put in post or two on Orlando St. near the S. E. Corner of Pease land to keep automobiles from turning off over the curbing. Also to put the paving in repair at different points---all points that are defective. Request of Yr. Johnson that he be allowed to plant a gas tank near the curb at the corner of Cumberland and McKey was refused. Roadway being constructed by County--inside of City Limits--near Arch, was discussed, some. of the Council favoring same and others disserting. County may desire Council to pass a Resolution covering certsin points in reference to this roadway. -~ It was also brought out that County had constructed a long piece of road from the Arch west, half of which is in City Limits and charg- able to the City of Ocoee if the County should force the issue. This road origina1ly was planned to meet City Paving at the south end of ---- - .. ,. ~ .~ If". . No.2. .. Kissimmee Ave., but the City failed to put its part of the contract through, hence County turned east at the corner and paving the near- est way to connect with main Brick Road. Marshal instructed to post his water accounts on large book to be kept in office for inspection by Council at any time. Drainage on roadway near Mitchell's was discussed, and on motion of J. M. Argo it was decided to await the coming of the County Grader, and not try to do this work by hand. It was decided to drain this water west to low place on north side ,of.highway, from whence it might take its own course.
