Minutes of a regular meeting of the City Uouncil held May 15th 1939.
Meeting ~al~:d to order by Chairman at 7:45 P. M.
All members present except Mr. Kerr, May~r absent, Clerk present.
Minutes of meeting May 1st read and approved.
Mr. Graves moved and second Mr. b'ord to pay following bills:
Florida Public Service Co $40.35; Florida Public Service Co $1.50;
Florida Press, Inc., $3.00; and $25.00 to apply on account with the
Orange State Oil Company.
Clerk reports that the City Attorney advised that he sees not reason
why tha Oity should give the Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph 00
a franchise without cost, and more particular for a period of thirty
years as noted in their Ordinance form prepared. And so appearing to
the City Attoeney that sinoe they have been operating lines through
Ocoee for so many yearswithout such a franchise or Ordinance passed,
that he sees no reason to pass suoh Ordinance at this time.
Mr. A. I. barker present to ask Counoil if they would issue a filling
station lioense sinoe he is on excluded property, being that he serves
the majority of his trade to BK% patrons in cars on public or Oity
property. Mr. Windham moved aDd second l'.1:r. :Pord to authorize Ulerk to
issue the filling station lioense to Mr. A. I. Barker.
