Minutes of adjorned meeting of Uity vounoi1 held April 1st 1940
Meeting oalled to order by Chairman at 7:45 P. M.
All members present, Mayor and Clerk present.
Meeting was oalled to disouss the matter in oonneotion with the
olosing Ohio street from Bluford Avenue to Lakewood Avenue.
Mr. R. G. Pitman and Mr. W. Af. P~1ri~~~Qa~ng present. Mr. Patriok
as requested by the vounoi1,/e~a~~dPtHBfh~ had no objeotion on his
part to olose the street, and stated that believed it would be an
asset to the eity and Sohool.
After furtHer disoussion, :Mr. Kerr moved and seoond Mr. Bryan that
Ohio Street be posted to be olosed in 30 days, providing the sohoo1
aoquires Blook WAn of Marion Park Subdivision. With the understanding
that the sohool will take up briok and ourbing and side walk of Ohio
street and deliver to plaoe designated by vity Oounoi1. Also remove
all water pipe lines from Bluford Avenue to Lakewood Avenue and deliver
to City at plaoe designated by Counoil. All members voted AYE and oarried.
Ohairman Pounds appointed Mr. Bryan, Mr. Argo and Mr. Kerr together
with Mr. Vandergrift as a oommittee to go to Tampa to see fire truok
at a prioe of $550.00. Mr. Kerr stated that the meohanio for the fire
department for OrJando wo uld be glad to go along to examine the truok
in question. If truok proved satisfaotory to this oommittee, the Oounoil
agreed for the Uommittee offer them $75.00 per year for the truck, If
these terms were not aooepted, then to offer $100.00 per year. And if
owners should aooept either of these terms, Oounoi1 authorized this
Committee to buy the truok and drive it baok. The ds.tte set to rmke this
trip is Tuesday April loth.
There being no further business, Mr. Graves moved and seoond Mr.
Kerr to adjorn at 9:10 P. M.
