BRYAN J. W, GRAVES E. J. KERR I \ Minutes of a reg~lar meeting of the Oity Oouncil held August 19th 1940. Meeting oalled to order at 7:45 P. M~ All members present, Mayor and Olerk: present. Minutes of last regular meeting of August 5th read and approved. voted and l3arried. Mr. Argo .moved second Mr. Bryan to pay .F1orida Public ~ervice $24.00 for ptimp bill and $1.50 for oounci1 room lights, voted and carried. Mr. Agro moved an~Becond Mr. Graves to renew the note of. Williams Ohevrolet Company of $87.30 for ninety days, deducting frQm it Mr. .lilliams water bill to August 1st of $8.39 and add the interest of $3.30 to note, making the new note in the amount of $82.21, voted and carried. Mr. Bryan moved second Mr. Kerr to a~prove the payment of Wurst and Banders bills for salaries to August 1st of '25.00 each, voted and carried, also to include in the motion to pay Florida Telephone Oorp.$4.00' Mr. R. K. Galloway of Kissimmee present to give estimate on repainting water tank inside and out from top to base for $145.00, which will include a new cover for tank, Oouncil advised they would let him know when they were financially able to have work done. Mr. Barker present to ask 00uncil about cutting ditches on each side of Street to Brock Allen property in Hickey's Subdivision and grading, this to apply on water rents at rate of $1.60 per day for 8 hours per man working. Motion made by Mr. Kerr second Mr. Graves to let Mr. Barker do the work, and use others on that street in helping, voted and carried. Mr. Bigelow asked ~ouncil by letter for two or three hundred brick for flue at Methodist Ghuroh, Council decided not to dispose of any brick. Mr. Bel,gler present to ask Mayo rand Oouncil about appoint ing a deput y marshal with authority to arrest anyone disorderly or damaging school property, Mayor advise that he would attend to this soon. Mr. ~go moved and seoond Mr. Graves to buy four shovels, one shovel to be round. one 12 inch file, and four lively-lad blades, and the marshal to lock them up at pump house each night, boted and carried. ~ Byran moved second Mr. Argo to adopt ordinance setting a levy for the \ 1940 tax roll assessment at 665 mills to be allocated as follows~ \ Brown Orummer Judgment & Interest - - - - - - - - 4 mills Meredith, Rodgers & Martin judgment & Interest- - 430 mills G. D. Howell judgment & Interest- - - - - - - 2 mills ~\ Outstanding Bonds & Interest not reduced to judgments- 221 mills Sinking fund for fire & water departments - - 2 mills Operating expenses - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3 mills Total millage &65-miTIs ( OVER ) 61t.~ e . e . e (continued from other side) Motion being made and seconded, there being no opposing vote, the motion is unanimously carried.
