BRYAN J.W.GRAVES E. J. KERR Minutes of a regular meeting of the City Council held September 3rd 1940 Meeting called to, order at 7:45 P. M. Members present; Argo , Bryan and Graves; ~~mbers absent Kerr, Pounds. 1myor and Clerk present. Minutes of last regular meeting of August 19th read and approved, voted a nd carried. Chairman Pounds and Vice-Chairman Kerr being absent, Mr. Bryan acted as ChairrrBn at this meeting. bITs. Craig present with several ladies .f~om the W. P. A. sewing room to find out the posibilities of the vity paying their sponsorship of $15.00 per month to carry on with the work, after M:rs. Craig outlined the necessity of the regular contribution and the posibility of the Government shutting down this project without the sponsers payments, The Council was in sympathy. Mr. Argo moved second Mr. Graves to pay over to Mrs. Letson a check for $15.00 to tide the project over until next regular meet ing of the Uounci1 for final actiog, and for the rm teria1 to' be bought in Orlando where can be bought the cheapest, Voted and ~arried. Mr. ~rgo moved seocnd Mr. Graves to pay 1tt. Burgess $9.86 for 40 water receipt books, and to instruct U1erk to have title to red truck trans- ferred and order 1940 X tag, the tw'o being $3.50; Mr. Argo moved second Mr. Graves to renew the Pounds Motor Company note of $60.00 for ninety d~ days and pay $1.20 interest, also to credit Mr. Mqbley's water bill on his bill against the City for $6.01 brought up to ~eptember 1st, and to approve Wurst and ~anders bills for salaries to September 1st 1940. U1erk reports that Mr. Loppacher has accepted the blue truck, ana title for the truck has been turned over to ltt. Loppacher. Mr. Agro moved and second Mr. Graves that the marshall collect all curren water bills plus 25% of old bills, and if not paid to comply with or, dinance, Which is to cut off water service. Voted and Carried. Mr. Graves' moved and second Mr. Argo that the Council see about getting a price on cleaning water tank and report back at next meeting, Voted and carried.
