Minutes of a regular meeting of the Uity Uounoil held February 16th 1942.
The Counoil was called to order by President Bigelow at 8:15 P. M.
Counoilmen present: President Bigelow; ~ckles; Minor; Argo and Bryan.
~bsent none, l~yor, City Attorney, ~lerk and Marshal present.
Mr. Argo made motion to a~~rove miq~tes of last regular and special
meetings, seoonded by Mr. Bryan, Voted and oarried.
Mr. Bryan moved to pay all bills as read and as follows: Winter Garden
Hardware Co $6.69 for pipe'fittings; Florida P~blio ~ervioe Co $59.90
for two months pumping bills of $45.90 and $1.50 for oounoil room and
~12.50 for street lights to February 2nd 1942; Mrs. Helen W. Curtis
$10.00 Court reporter in Harris case; Florida Telephone Corp. $4.38 for
phon~ rent; motion seconded by Mr. Argo, voted and carried.
Mr. Argo made motion to settle Mrs. J. E. Whitaker water bill of $4.09 for
~1.79 on acoount of the large differenoe of the old meter and the new meter
~eoonded by Mr. Eokles, voted and qarried: Mr. argo made motion that Mrs.
H. A. Emanuel pe permitted to pay ~1.25 on water account and $1.00 per week
as long as work last and at no time to let ourrent bill go behind, Second
Mr. Bryan, all members voted AYE, motion oarried. Mr. Eokles moved to
aocept $2.00 from H. L. Styles with the understanding that the .89~ balanoe
will be paid ~aturday Fenruary 21st, seoond Mr. Argo,Voted & carrie~.
HEEOHTS: Mr. Akerman present to report about the Harris oase. Mr. M. M.
Ba~k8dale present to l1lR1~e application for marshal, n" aoti~n taken.
Mr. Argo made motion that the Clerk to oheok up and settle with Mr. H. M.
Moore, as he has resigned as Marshal, secnnd Mr. Eokles, voted &: oa.rried.
NOTE) Mr. C. G. Sanders went on as aotive Marshal until further action
and reooommendations oan be made at noon today, February 16th 1942.
Mr. Argo made motion for ~lerk to supply the Bank at APopka some kind.of
statement of the Town, a.nd to pay the Bank $175.00 to apply on note of
$350.00 due February 26th.
