Minutes of, a regular meet ing of Cit y Counoil held "'tne 1st 1942
Couna il was oalled to order by Fresident Bigelow at 8: 30 P. M.
Councilmen present; President Bigelow, Minor, Eckles, Argo and Bryan.
Mayor absent, City Attorney, and Clerk present, Marshal absent.
Minutes of last regular meeting held May 18th read and approved.
Mr. Argo made motion to pay bills as follwws:J. Z. Eckles $3.50 for oro.k,
Iserman and Co. $1.50, Akerman, Akerman & MoEwan $10.00 for Ma, retainer,
Roy B. Burgess$3.00 for letter heads, also to approve the $18.00 to Howard
Grain Co for45 pounds ahlorene, and Olerk: a.nd Marshal salary to May 31st of
$25.00 eaoh, motion second by Mr. Eckles, voted and carried.
Mr. Bryan made motion to pay $10.00 to Southern-Meter & Repair Co and pay
State Bank of Apopka $75.00 to apply on note, Motion died for lack of seannd.
Mr. Eokles made motion to pay state Bank of Apopka $75.00 to apply of note,
which Will leave $100.00 balanoe due, note of $175.00 was due Ma, 26th 1942.
motion was seconded by Mr. Argo, voted and'oarried.
Council requested Clerk to see Mr. Bewis to get lot nwnbers on whiah he has
built house to be assessed for the 1942 tax roll assessment book, and to notifyl
all p~perty owners of the new assessments put on their property that they must
meet with Council the meeting of June 16th to hear oomplaints, if none, the
assessment s Will stand co nfirmed, also to post notioesabout Town of suoh
meeting.
Mr. Argo made motion to instruct Marshal to keep both sides of street and sid6
walks oleared from the Pot Offioe to the lJrug Store open every Saturday night
on account of the Pict ure shows, Mr. Eakles, Mr. Bigelow and Mr. Argo vot ed
AYE ~nd Mr. Minor and Mr. Bryan , voted NO. motion carried. .
Mr. Argo made motion for Mr. Bryan to put foundation under garage at water
tank, and to plwmb up the building and to fix' up thednors, Motion second by
Mr. Eckles, voted and carried.
Counoil instruoted Clerk to make up wat er bill for Mr. W. ll. Tyler and have
Marshal present it for payment in person, and report back: at next meeting.
