Minutes of a recessed meeting of City Council Held May 7th 1943.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:30 P. M. All
Councilmen present. City Attorney and Mayor absent. 01erk and
Marshal present.
Minutes of last regular meetings held April 19th and May 3rd were
read and approved.
The Clerk read a letter from the Marshal.
It was decided for the Clerk to get with Mr. Akerman and make the
- report that is to be filed May 15th in regards to the Lester Harris
judgment.
Mr. Whitaker made a motion to make Marshal's salary $60. per month.
Motion seconded by Mr. Bryan.
Mr. Argo made a motion to pay the Marshal $75. per month. Motion
seconded by Mr. Minor.
After much discussion Mr. Whitaker withdrew his motion. Upon vote
of Mr. Argo's motion Mr. Argo and Mr. Minor voted yes, and Mr.
Bryan voted No, Mr. Whitaker didn't vote.
Mr. Bryan made a motion to raise 01erk's salary $10. peE month.

Mr. Argo made a motion to withdraw his motio of-wakYfig a 's ~
salary $75. per month. Mr. Minor withdrew his second. ~~
Mr. Whitaker made a motion to pay ~esKatsha1 $60. per month for
pumping water. Motion wa~ seconded by Mr. Argo, voted and carried.
Mr. Argo made a motion to make Clerk'sssaiary $35. per month for
extra work. Motion seconded by Mr. Minor, voted and carried.
Mr. Argo made a motion'for the Marshal be authorized to get new
valve for pump. Motion seconded by Mr. Whitaker.
Mr. Argo made a motion for the Chairman to appoint a Committee to
investigate the condition of the water tank to see what is needed
as it's condition had been reported by Mr. Eckles at Monday nigh~s
meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Whitaker. Mr. Argo and Mr. Whitaker
were appointed a Committee to act with Mr. Eckles.
There being no further business Mr. Argo.made a motion to adjourn.
Motion seconded by Mr. Minor, voted and carried. Council
adjourned at 9:55 P. M.
