Minutes of a regular meeting of City Oouncil held SePtemb~r 6th 1943.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:30 E. M.
Councilmen Argo, Bryan, Farmer, Minor and Whitaker present. Clerk and
Marshal present. Mayor absent.
. Minutes of last regular meeting held August 16th were read and approveG.
Mr. Argo made' a motion to adjourn meeting of August 16th. Motion was
seconded by Mr. Bryan, voted and carried.
Mr,. Argo made a motion to pay the current bills and those that had been
tabled at the two previous regular meetings of City Oouncil from the
Water Fund with the exception of the Mayors Court fees, which was to be
paid from the general Fund. The current bills were as follows: Marshal
salary to August 31st $30.00; Clerk salary to August 31st $35.00; Roy
Burgess $4.00 for 500 Letter heads; Florida Telephone Corp. $4.28 and
$4.00 for fees of Mayor~ Court. Motion was seconded by Mr. Whitaker,
voted and carried.
It was reported that there was no progress on the road work and nothing
had been done about the water tank.

Mr. Bryan offered an ordinance entitled "AN ORDIl'JANCE ASCERTAINING THE
AMOUNT NECESSARY TO OPERATE THE CITY OF OCOEE1 FLORIDA, FOR THE TAX
YEAR BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 1, 1942, AND ENDING ON OCTOBER 31, 1943,"
(which ordinance, if adopted, will become City of Ocoee Qrdinance
No. 71). This proposed ordinance was then seconded by Mr. Whitaker,
examined, discussed, voted upon and carried.
Mr. Argo then offered an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE
RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE TAX YEAR
BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 1, 1942, AND ENDING ON OCTOBER 31, 1943,"
(which ordinance, if adopted, will become City of Ocoee Ordinance
No. 72). This proposed ordinance was then seconded by Mr. Minor,
examined, discussed, voted upon and carried.
Mr. Minor tan offered an ordinance entitled f1AN ORDINANCE LEVYING
TAXES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE TAX YEAR BEGINNING
NOVEMBER 1, 1942, AND ENDING OCTOBER 31, 1943," (which ordinance, if
adopted, will become City of Ocoee Ordinance No. 73). This proposed
ordinance was then seconded by Mr. Argo, examined, discussed, voted
upon and carried.

Mr. Whitaker then offered an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPR~
PRIATING AND ALLOCATING ALL REVENUE AND FUNDS OF THE CITY IDF OCOEE,
FLORIDA, FOR THE TAX YEAR BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 1, 1942, ~~D ENDING
ON OCTOBER 31, 1943," (which ordinance, if adopted, will become City
of Ocoee Ordinance No. 74). This proposed ordinance was then seconded
by Mr. Bryan, examined, discussed, voted upon and car~ied~
There was a discussion of cleaning the streets. It was advised not to
do anything about the matter because of the funds being tied up at the
present.

Mr. Bryan made a motion ~o order a l~ in. meter for the Ocoee Fruit
Packers house. Motion was seconded by Mr. Minor, voted and carried.
Mr. Bryan made a motion that the Council go on record as instructing .
the Mayor, by the Marshal, that with the cooperation of the Marshal
to enforce all ordinances. Motion seconded by Mr. Minor, voted and
carried.

There being no further business Mr. Bryan made a motion to recess.
Motion was seconded by Mr. Minor, voted and carried. Council ~e-
cessed at 10:25 P. M. '
