Minutes of a regular meeting of City Council held November 15th 194~.
Meeting called to order by Chatrman Farmer at 8:05 P. M.
council.m,en Farmer, Fields~ Minor and Whitaker present. Councilman
Slo~~ ~?,sent. Mayor and vlerk present. Marshal absent.
Minutes of last regular meeting held November 1st, recessed meeting
of November 2nd and special meeting of November 8th were read and
approved.

Mr. Whitaker made a motion that Mr. Minor be Vice-Chairman of the
Council. Motion was seconded by Mr. Fields, voted and carried.
Mr. Minor made a motion to pay the following bills: Marshal salary
to November 15th $30.00; Florida Telephone Corp. $4.64; Florida
Public Service Co. $45.70, power and lights to November 4th; Mayors
Court fees for Oliver Williford Case and H. L. Meyers Case $8.00;
Carl J. Jackson $1.17 for County taxes for 1943; and $~.OO each to
Mrs. Sam R. Scott, Mrs. Myrtle E. Minor, Mrs. W. S. Pounds and Mrs.
Mary Griffin for service for City Election held November 2nd.
Motion was se,conded by Mr. Whitaker, voted and carried.
1~. v~itaker made a motion to pay the Inspectors and Clerk $3.00 each
for serving on the election board November 2nd. Motion seconded by
Mr. Fields, voted and carried.
The Clerk read the resignation of C. G. Sanders, Marshal. Mr. Minor
made a motion to accept Mr. Sanders' resignation. Motion was
seconded by Mr. Whitaker, voted and carried.
Mr. Vfuitaker made a motion to retain Mr. Akerman as City Attorney
'under the same terms of the last agreement. Motion was seconded by
Mr. Minor, voted and carried.
It was decided to tahle any action for a Marshal until Friday night,
November 19th, at 8:00 P. M.
Mr. G. T. Tolar and Mr. Edgar McDaniel were present and put in their
applications for the job of Marshal(appYications were oral). Mr.
Tolar offered to take the job for $125. per month and Mr. McDaniel
offered to take it for $85. per month.
There being no further business Mr. Vfuitaker made a motion to re-
cess. Motion was seconded by Mr. Fields, voted and carried.
Council recessed at ~:07 P. M.
