Minutes of a regular meeting of City Council held March 20th 1944.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:20 P. M.
Councilmen Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and ~Vhitaker present.
Mayor, Clerk and Water Works Man present.
Minutes of regular meeting of March 6th were read and approved.
Mr. Vfuitaker made a motion to pay the following bills:-From Water Fund
Salary as Water Works Man to March 15th $30.00; Florida Power Corp.,
pump bill to b~rch 4th, $35.20;-From General Fund-Salary as Water
Works tian to March 15th $20.00; Florida Power ~orporation, street and
City Hall lights to March 4th, $14.00; and L. C. Conrad, labor and
materials on truck, $15.40. Motion was seconded by la. Slone, voted
and carried.
Mr. Bryan gave a report on the water line to be extended beyond lIT.
Fains'. Mr. Vfuitaker made a motion to table the matter until the
next meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Fields, voted and carried.
Mr. V,~itaker made a motion that Mr. Bryan get pipe to run line across
the street to Mr. R. B. Howard's. Motion seconded by Mr. Minor,
voted and carried.
I~. Minor made a motion that Mr. Bryan be authorized to have Yx. Black
move his fence buck so Mr. Armstrong ca.n get to his garage. Motion
was seconded by w~. Fields, voted and carried.
Mr. Minor made a motion that Mr. Bryan have l~. Boggan go with him to
see about some sanitary conditions in town. Motion was seconded by M~
Vfuitaker, voted and carried.
Mr. ~~itaker made a motion that Mr. Bryan~uy one gallon of paint and
paint a strip around Mr. Cox's station. Motion was seconded byiJr.
Minor.
Mr. and IJrs. C. H. Pounds were present to ask permission to use wood
shingles to cover their house. Mr. Minor made a motion)that, due to
the fact that NIT. Pounds hadn't been notified that he couldn't, use
wood shingles, that he be given permission to go ahead and use wood
shingles. Motion was seconded by I~. Slone, voted and carried.
There being no further business Mr. Minor made a motion to adjourn.
Uotion was seconded by Mr. Vfuitaker, voted and carried. Council
adjourned at 9:00 P. M.
