HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-04-1944 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE OITY COUNCIL OF THE OITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1944 Present. Councilmen Farmer, Fields, Sloen and Whitaker, end Mayor Calhoun. I Absent. Councilman Minor. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8..30 p. M., and the minutes of the last regular meeting of August 21, 1944 were read end ap- proved. The Council, and those present, then discussed the Plan of Oomposition of the indebtedness of the City. r The Clerk read a letter from Mr. F. H. Maguire relative to the assessment of Mr. Maguire's lot on which the hotel is located, and thereupon Mr. Fields made a motion to set the assessment at $1200.00. This motion was seconded by Mr. Whitaker, and carried by a vote of the Council. Mr. Fields made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills. (a) From the Waterworks Fund. wate1works Lan's salaty to August 31, 19~4 $30.00 Clerk s salary to August 31, 1944 - - - - - - - $31.;0 Ledger paper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1.10 (b) From the General Fund. I Wa terworks Man' s salary to August 31, 1944 __ Clerk's salary to August 31, 1944 - _ _ _ _ _ _ Postage stamps _ - - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 20.00 3.50 1.00 The motion to pay the aforesaid bills from the funds above mentioned was seconded by Mr. Whitaker; and carried by a vote of the Oouncil. Thereupon, a discussion was had as to the budget for the current year 1944-1945. Councilman Whitaker made a motion to adopt the fOllowing. Approxima te Income. Mr. Sloan brought up the matter of selling some of the Oi ty property at the Trailer Camp to Mr. Underwood, and it was voted to give Mr. Underwood the privilege of using as much of the land as he wished at the present time. There was a discussion about renting the Trailer Oamp to another party. There being no fUrther business, Councilman Whitaker made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
