MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 1944
Present: Councilmen Farmer, Fields, Minor and ~fuitaker, and h~yor
Calhoun.
Absent:
Councilman Slone.
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:30 P. ~.,
and the minutes of the last regular meeting of Septembe~ 4, 1944
were read and approved.
Mr. Walter Hovarter and Mr. Hunter were present to discuss the
matter of the hotel with the Uouncil.
Mr. Minor made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills:
(a) From the Waterworks Fund:
Waterworks ban's salary to September 15, 1944----------
Fla. Power Corp., pump bill to September 7, 1944-------
Roy Burgess, printing postal cards---------------------
Iserman and Company, materials-------------------------
$30.00

(b) From the General Fund:
Waterworks Van's salary to September 15, 1944---------- 20.00
Fla. Power Corp., Street and City hall lights to
September 7, 1944------------------ 14.00
R. J. Mobley, file------------------------------------- .30
The motion to pay the aforesaid bills from the funds above mentioned
was seconded by V~. Fields , and carried by a vote of the COilllCil.
Mr. Yfuitaker made a motion to give the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad
permission to put in a crossing east of Mr. Fain's store. The motion
was seconded by ~~. Fields, voted upon and carried.
~~. Fields made a motion to open the registration books October 2, 1944.
The motion was seconded by U~. Vfuitaker, voted upon and carried.
A discussion was had as to the assessment for the Florida. Power Corp-
oration and the Florida Telephone Company. LIT. ~fuitaker made a motion
that the following assessments be set:
Florida Power Corporation--------------------------$ll,500.00
Florida Telephone Company-------------------------- 1,855.00
The motion of ~. Whitaker was seconded by W~. Fields, voted upon and
carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that
the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman
~TIitaker, voted upon and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at
10:00 P. M.
