HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-19-1945 I I I 45 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, MARCH 19, 1945 Present: Councilman Farmer, Minor, Fields, Slone and Whitaker and Mayor Calhoun. Absent: }lone A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:30 P. M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held March 5th, and Special meeting held March 9, 1945 were read and approved. Councilman Slone made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: ~(a) From the Waterworks Fund: Waterworks man salary to 3-15-45 Cash,lOOO post carda and express charges J. L. Phillips, gas & oil M. C. Bryan, labor on water lines James'Finley, clearing hurricane dabrie Orwin Osteen, clearing hurricane dabrie Ernest Lindsey, clearing hurricane dabrie Florida Power Corp. pump bill Davis meter Repair Company Bowness Service Station, battery, gas & oil Roy' E. Burgess, printing cards, water dept. V. T. Murwin. gas, oil & Brake fluid (b) From General Fund: $30.00 11.58 1.38 17.00 5.00 5.00 5.00 29.25 12.00 8,65 4.25 3.10 None The motion to pay the aforesaid bills from funds mentioned above was seconded by Councilman Fields, a~d carried by a vote of the Council. Letter from County Attorney G. B. Fishback was read, and directing the~signing~a petition that was attached, Entitled. Petitition for Direction as to Disposition and Proration of Funds Received Under Chapter 22079 Laws of Florida 1943. Council asked the Mayor to get City Attorney Gray's advice on signing and hand it to Mr. Fishback. Councilman Slone made a motion that the Marshal be instructed to collect all delinquent water rent or cut it off. Motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted upon by the Council and carried. Councilman Minor made a motion that Ordinance Regulating the Compen- sation of the City Officials, to the effect that all Officials consisting of the Mayor, Councilmen, Clerk and Marshal be permitted. to use City water without meter readings and free of charge at their residence, or the equivalent in cash on prevailing minimum rates per month. Motion was seconded by Councilman Fields. Voted upon by the Council and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Minor mad e a motion that the meeting be adjorned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker. Voted upon and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjorned at 9:40 P. M. ATT~~ 0J:fJ,~~'$l' Clerk. Mayor.
