HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-02-1945 --~_._- 83 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, APRIL 2, 1945 Present: Councilman Farmer, Fieads, Minor Slone and Whitaker and Mayor Calhoun. Absent: None A quorum present. I The meeting was called to order By,Chairman Farmer at 8:30 P. M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held March 19, were read and approved. Minutes of the SPECIA L meeting held March 22, 1945 not approved, evidenced by the minutes not being signed. Councilman Fields made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From Waterworks Funds: Waterworks man's salary to 4-1-45 Clerk's salary to 4-1-45 M. C. Bryan, for plumbing Iserman & Company, for pipe Cash paid out, for miscelaneous J. W. Doss, gas & oil R. J. Mobley, paint brush Bowness Service Station, gas & oil Waterworks's man salary to 4-15-45 (b) From General Funds: W. C. Bishop, gas & oil $30.00 31.50 11.00 10.08 2.60 3.88 .75 1.15 30.00 3.65 I The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds mentioned above was seconded by Councilman Slone, and carried by a vote of the Council. The Marshal stated that the water at Pease Packing House has been cut back on several times, after he cuts it off. The Council instructed M. C. Bryan to take the meter out and plug the pipe, and place the meter at another place where needed. Between the Mayor and Clerk, a resolution was read entitled as follows: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF AN ISSUE OF CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA REFUNDING BONDS, ISSUE OF 1945, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING THE LEGAL AND VALID OUTSTANDING BONDS OF SAID CITY, AND INTEREST THEREON, AND JUDGMENTS RENDERED ON SOME OF SAID BONDS AND INTEREST THEREON, AND A CERTAIN JUDGMENT HERE- TOFORE ENTERED AGAINST THE CITY ON FUNDED INDEBTEDNESS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER AND METHOD OF ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF SAID ISSUE OF REFUNDING BONDS. and after the completion of the reading of'said resolution, the Council with various property owners, dedided that this plan was not suitable, and the Council should endeaver to work out a better plan than any that has been submitted. , I There being no further business, Councilman Slone made a motion that the meeting be adjorned.
