HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-11-1945 I I I 8~) I MINUTES OF THE RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, ~LORIDA, HELD FRIDAY, MAY 11, 1945 Present: Councilman Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and Whitaker and Mayor Calhoun. Absent:None A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by ~airman Farmer at 8:30 P. M. for the purpose of reading and adopting two resolutions as follows: A RESOLUTION ~~ENDING SECTION 1 (e) OF THAT RESOLUTION HERETOFORE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 22, 1945 AUTHORIZING THE IS- SUANCE OF AN ISSUE OF REFUNDING BONDS OF SAID CITY. AND A RESOLUTION AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 6 (b) OF THAT RESOLUTION HERETOFORE ADOPTED ON !~CH 22, 1945. The City Oouncil of the Oity of Ocoee, Florida, met in Special session at the City Hall on May 11, 1945. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 o'cLock, P. M. and the following .members were present. c. J. Farmer, S. Z. Fields, John T. Minor M. B. Slone and J. E. Whitaker. Absent: None A Quorum present. A proposed resolution in typewritten form was introduced and read in full by Councilman S. Z. Fields, who moved its adoption. The Motion was seconded by Councilman M. B. Slone that the resolution be adopted. Thereupon, on roll call the vote to adopt said resolution was as follows: YEAS: C. J. Farmer, S. Z. Fields, John T. Minor M. B. Slone and J. E. Whitaker. Nays NOT VOTING: None Thereupon the Council declared that said resolution was adopted, which resolution reads and figures as follows: A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 1 (e) OF THAT RESOLUTION HERETOFORE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 22, 1945 AUTHORIZING THE IS- SUANCE OF AND ISSUE OF REFUNDING BONDS OF SAID SITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE OITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY ASSElffiLED: Section 1. That Section l(e) of that resolution heretofore adopted by the City Oouncil on March 22, 1945 authorizing the issuance of an iSGue of refunding Bonds be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: (e) "That all of sc.id bonded indebtedness hereinabove described represents and constitutes legal and valid subsisting bonded in- debtedness of said Oity insurred prior to November 6, 1934 for the payment of which th~ full faith and credit of said City were pledged, and all property within the territorial limits of said I I I 91 City as it extended at the time of the issuance of said respec- tive issues of bonds excepting only such property as was exempt from taxation under the provisions of the laws and Constitution of Florida which were in force and effect at the time of the creation of the indebtedness was subject to the levy of an ad valorem tax for the payment of the interest on and principal of said bonds." Sectian 2. A 11 resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and recinded. Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
