MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
MONDAY, MAY 21,1945
Present: Councilman Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and Whitaker.
Absent: Mayor Calhoun.
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman aj 8:50 P. M.
and the minutes of last regular meeting held May 11, and Special
meeting held May 17, 1945 were read and approved.
Councilman Minor made a motion to approve the payment of the
following bills:
(a) From Water Works Funds:
Waterworks lJan salary to 5-15-45
Welton Bruce, labor
Florida Power Corp.
David Meter Repair Company
J. W. Do s s

(b) From General Funds:
Carl J. Jackson, 1945 truck tag.
Claude L. Gray, apply on account
Bank charges on three non-par bank checks

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds mentioned above
was seconded by Councilman FieldS, and carried by a vote of
the Counc i 1.
Councilman Whitaker made a motion that the City truck not be
used for anything other than City purposes without the consent
of Councilman Fields. The motion was seconded by Councilman Slone,
Voted upon and carried.
Oouncilman Fields made a motion that the gas coupons for the City
truck be put in the safe for City use only. Motion was seconded by
Councilman Slone, Voted upon and carried.
Ooach Griffin and Mrs. E. J. Kerr met with Council to discuss the
matter of the Youth Center, Mrs. Kerr Stated that they would have a
meeting with some of the parents to decided what to do, and would
report back to the Council, and suggested that they propably would
prefer to pay the $10.00 Per month rent. Councilman Minor n~de a
motion to furnish water to the Youth Center if they kept the building,
this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, Voted upon and carried.
Mr. Jimmie Goodman present to ask Council to investigate the matter of
getting his property back into the City as it is excluded. Oouncil
stated they they would ask Mr. Gray to see what could be done.
Oouncilman v~itaker made a motion to have Mr. Bryan to fix doors and
make pther repairs to garage where truck is kept, and to get the necess-
ary materials for the repairs. Motion was seconded by Councilman Minor,
Voted upon and carried.
Councilman Slone made a motion that the Clerk order 1945 tag for the
truck, and to have the breaks fixed. Motion was seconded by Councilman
Fields. Voted upon and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to send Mr. Claude L. Gray a check for
$200.00 to apply on bill dated April 18, 1945 being in the amount of
$500.00. Motion was seconded by Oouncilman Slone, voted upon and carried.
Oouncilman Whitaker made a motion for l~. Bryan to run water line to Mrs.
W. L. DOore's and George Graves property~ motion was seconded by Council-
Man Slone, Voted upon and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that the
meeting be adjorned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whita~er,
Voted upon add carried. Thereupon, the CO~~l ~d}~ed~~O:50 P.M.
