HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-09-1945 125 MINUTES OF THE RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 9" 19<15. Present: Councilman Farmer, Fields, Slone and Whitaker,' and Mayor Calhoun. Absent: Councilman Minor. A quorum present. I The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:30 P. M. The main subject of this meeting was to hire a new Marshal. I Mr. H. M. Moore was present, and stated that he would accept the job if the Council would pay him a livable wage, and after much discussion in outlining his duties. Councilman Whitaker made a motion to hire Mr. Moore at a salary of.$llO.OO per month to S>>ptember 15th 1945. and after such time if he proves to carry out his duties satisfatorily to the Council, he will be paid at a rate of $120.00 per month, this agreed upon and acceptable to Mr. Moore. The motion was seconded by Councilman Fields. Voted upon by the Council and carried. Councilman Whitaker made a motion to iBstruct the Clerk to send every water user a bill for the amount oweing, and must be paid by August 15th or be discontinued, and a cut on charge of $1.00 will be assessed plus the amount they are owing. the motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted upon and carried. Councilman Whitaker made a motion to have more water rent receipt books printed as soon as they are needed, motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. Councilman' Whitaker made a motion for the Clerk to order Six(6) Stop signs from the W. S. Daley and Company at $2.20 each, motion was seconded by Oouncilman Fields, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Fields mad e a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker, voted upon and carried.
