HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-17-1945 ,- I I I 135 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE OITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1945 Present: Councilman Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and ~~itaker and Mayor Calhoun. Absent: None A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:45 P. M., and the minutes of last regular meeting of September 3, 1945 were read and approved. Councilman Minor made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Fund: S. Z. Fields, gas R. J. MObley, 1 file Britt Farm'ng Company, mowing streets w. H. wurst, Olerk salary to 9-1-45 Cash paid out, postage stamps & office H. M. Moore, marshal salary to 9-15-45 Johnnie Adkinson, 3 hrs labor Lamar Moore, 19 hrs labor Ernest Lindsey, 3 hrs labor Arvin Moore, 13 hrs labor Buddie Styles, 13 hrs labor $ 1.15 .35 30.00 32.50 suppli 4.96 55.00 1.50 9..50 1.50 6.50 6.50 The motion to pay the aforesaid bills from the fund above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Fields, and carried by a vote of the Oouncil. Olerk read letters from various Bond Companies in New York asking for information' on the refunding plan. whereas, this information will have to be secured from Mr. J. P. Lea, Attorney for the Bonding Company which is handling the refunding plan. Oouncilman V&itaker made a motion that all members of the Oouncil to meet with Mr. J. A. Underwood at the trailer camp to see what portion of that property he wants to buy, meeting to take place on Wednesday afternoon, September 19th. Councilman Fields seconded the motion, voted and carried. . Councilman Fields made a motion to set the beer license at $75.00, and the license for a package store at $75.00, This motion was seconded by Oouncilman Slone. Upon a vote, Councilmen Fields and Slone voted AYE. Councilmen Farmer and Minor voted NO. Councilman Whitaker did not vote. Councilman Fields made a motion to get someone to audit the City books at once. Motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to pay the Clerk $100.00 per month, Motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Councilman Minor made a motion to have the Clerk's pay at above rate to reach back to August 15, 1945. This, motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker. Voted upon and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker, voted upon and carried.
