HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-15-1945 I I I 139 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNOIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, 1945. Present: Councilman Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and vfuitaker, and Mayor Oalhoun. Absent: None. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:05 P. M. and the minutes of last regular meeting of October 1, 1945 were read and approved. Councilman Minor made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills, as well as those having already been paid. (a) From General Fund: Donald Cashwell, 45 hrs. labor Sol Bailey, 55 hrs. labor Oscar Shiver, 55 hrs. labor Lamar Moore, 4 hrs labor Donald Cashwell, 35 hrs labor Oscar Shiver, 10 hrs. labor H. M. Moore, marshal's salary to 10-15-45 W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 10-15-45 Railway Express Agency, express on meters Florida Power Corp. power and lights to 10-4-45 L. L. Dudley, 3 hrs. disking streets Bank charge for two checks books $22.50 27.50 27.50 2.00 17.50 5.00 eo.oo 50.00 1.33 43.10 9.00 2.69 The motion to pay the aforesaid bills from fund above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Fields, and carried by a vote of the Council. Councilman ~~itaker made a motion that the complaints on the water meter readings of M. C. Bryan and J. Z. Eckles be figured as of the readings for the months of August and Septemeber, and that the other bill stand,as was paid tp an unauthorized party. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields. Voted upon and carried by the Council. Councilman Fields made a motion to give R. A. Doss, permit to move a building that is to be added too, for a dwelling. and to be located on lots from 1 to 9.. Block "D", Third Addi t10n to Lalce\7iew Sub. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker. Voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to reduce the valuation on the packing house property owned by L. U. Wallace, located lots 11 & 12 of Sims Sub. from $14..000. to $10,000. as this was the cash price that was paid for this property. Motion was seconded By Councilman Slone. Voted upon by the Council and carried. A petition was read by the Clerk signed by some seventy-Five residence and non-residence, forbidding the sale of or licensing a package liquor store. after much discussion, Councilman Fields made a motion to amend the Ordinance on Packa&e Licquor store from $75.00 to $450.00. This motion was seoonded by Councilman Whitaker. upon a vote of the Council, Cowlcilman Fields, Minor and Whitaker, voted AYE and Councilmen Sone and Farmer voted NO. motion was carried by a majority vote. Councilman ~aelds made a motion to use some of the paving brick to build a side walk along side of Bluford avenue fr.om Oaklam Avenue north to the ~ilroac., motion died for lack of a second. Councilman Solne made a motion to sell all the paving brick to W. H. Wurst for $25.00 per thousand. This motion was seconded by Cowlcilman Whitaker, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker. voted upon and carried.
