Present: Councilmen Farmer, Fields., Slone and Minor: and Mayor Calhoun. Absent: Councilman Whitaker. A quorum present. . '1 ......' The meeting was calied to order by Chariman Farmer at 7:45 P. M. ~nd the minutes of last regular meeting held December 3, and special meeting held December 10, 1945 were read and approved. Councilman Slone made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Fund: Jack Norwood, 3 i brs labor James Porter, 3 2 bra labor Thomas Hazen, 32 brs labor James Porter, 3 hrs labor Lamar Moore, ~ hrs labor Johnnie Adkison, 3 hrs labor W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 12-15.45 J. J. Robertson, Marshal salary to 12-15.45 Florida Power Corp. lights & Power to 12-5-45 Raymond G. Dickson, repair leak in Post Office Lester Harris, Principle $375.00 & Interest to Cash paid out, express on water samples $1.75 1.75 1.75 1.50 1.50 1.50 50.00 30.00 43.45 2.50 1-1-46-464.06 .53 (b) From Interest & Sinking Fund: First National Bank, Chicago $1,836.81 The motion to pa:y_thel.aforesaid bills from the funds mantioned above was seconded by Councilman Minor, carried by a voted of the Counc i1. Councilman Fields made a motion to adopt the fo~lowing entitled Ordinance for the levy of 1945 taxes: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES ON ALL PROPERTIES IN THE ~IMITS OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1945 FOR THE PAYMENT OF BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CI'rY: PROVIDING THE MANNER ANlD METHOB OF SETTLING DELINQUENT TAXES AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS. ~is Ordinance setting forth a levy of 20 mills for Homestead, One- one.half mills for Lester Harris Judgment and 2 and one-half mills for General operating purposes. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted upon by the Council and carried. The Clerk submitted to the Council the 1945 tax assessment rolls to,be examined and accepted or rejected. Councilman Fields made a motion to accept the rolls, and have notices posted in three public place about Town setting the date of December 28th 1945 at 7:00 P. M. to hear any complaints, and the Council to set as a equalization board. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted upon and carried. -,r ' Councilmap,M.inor made a motion that the Clerk be instructed to buy two cot pads and two blankets for the jail, this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields. Voted and carried. Councilman Slone made a motion for the Clerk to write every water user oweing more than one months water bill that they must pay up by December 31st, and have Mr. Robertson to cut them off, and if they are cutt off they must pay up in full, and pay $1.00 to be cut back on plus a $5.00 deposit. this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, Voted and carried. 167 I There being no further business, Councilman Slone made a motion to adjourn this meeting until December 28th. I I 16~) I NOTICE OF TAXPAYERS OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA YOUR ARE HEREBY notified that the assessment roll of the taxable property in the City of Ocoee for the year 1945 has been completed and has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Ocoee for the purpose of reviewing, correcting, and equalizing the same. The City Council of the City of Ocoee will set as a Board of Equalizers ~for the purpose of reviewing, correcting, and equalizing the roll on December 28, 1945 at 7:00 P. M. All persons and taxpayers of the Oi ty of Ocoee are hereby called upon to file with the City Clerk of the City of Ocoee their written petitions to the City Council setting forth any objections they may have to aforesaid assessmenr roll and the Corrections they desire made. This notice is to be published in three public places in the City of Ocoee at least ten (10) days previous to the date set above for the purpose of reviewing, Correction, and equalization of the said assessment roll. ~ted this 17th day of December 1945.
