Absent: Councilman Minor. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:15 P. M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held March 18, 1946 and Special meeting held Monday March 25, 1946 were read and approved. Councilman Vfuitaker made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Funds: L. J. Lee, marshal salary to 3-25-46 ~. H. Wurst, Clerk'S salary to 4-1-46 L. J. Lee, marshal salary to 4-1-46 cap Howell, 7 hrs reading weter meters Buster Calhoun, 6 hrs labor on truck Marty Moore, 6 hrs labor on truck Cash paid out, postage and water sample express W. H. Calhoun, kersoene and pistol shells L. J. Lee, marshal fee, Bruce case W. H. Calhoun, Mayor's fee, Bruce case W. H. Wurst, Clerk's fee, Bruce case Florida Power Corp. power & Lightns to 3-5-46 C. R. Freeman, gas & oil , L. L. Asher, plumbing work and materials W. H. Wurst Agency, Clerk and marshal bonds George S. Gray, Attorney fees in full on the Bond Hefunding Plan $3,000.00 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds mentioned above, with the xeceptions of the Iserman & Co. and Florida Te~ephone Corp., was seconded by Councilman Fields, Voted upon and carried. Mrs. J. Z. Eckles present to ask Council to reduce her 1945 taxes down to amount of County Taxes, Council stated there was nothing they could do about the reduction she asked for. Councilman \Vhitaker made a motion for 1~. Cap Howell to get the meter book that would suit our purpose, this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. Council instructed Clerk to get up figures on Taxes and License due by the Florida Telephone Corp, for City Attorney, to make settlement. CouncilmBll Vfuitaker made a motion thet':the check of Mrs. Roma K. Roebuck be returned to her in the amount of $194.14. this being in settlement of taxes on her property being excluded. According to her letters she would expect a refund if her property is not brought back in for taxation. Councilman Slone seconded this motion, voted and carried. . Councilman Fields made a motion to notify Miss Rowena McD9niel, Post- mistress, that the rent on the Post Office will be raised to $20.00 per month to beging May 11th 1946. This motion was seconded by Counil- man Whitaker, Voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to have the garbage lwuled off each Saturday morning, beginning April 6t~ 1946. This motion W8S seconded by Councilman Slone. Voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion that if any excluded property owner or ~enants thereon, wish to sign up for City to haul off their garbage for $1.00 per quarter they may do so, and get a receipt at Clerk's office. This motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, Voted and carried. Councilman ~fuitaker made a motion to have Mr. Asher replace all non- working meters with new meters, this motion wes seconded by Councilman Fields, Voted and carried. 195' I Councilman Fields made a motion to pay George S. Merclwnt the balance due of $50.00 on the Marshal's uniform, and that $2.50 be deducted from Marshal'S salary each week. This motion was seconded by Councilman \Vhitaker, Voted and carried. Council asked Clerk to write Norman Bryant, care of Stete Road Department, Deland, about the possibility in getting road and culverts repaired through Ocoee. There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion to a~journ this meeting, This motion was seconded by Councilman ~~itaker, voted and carried.
